Growers join RB Sellars and Cotton Australia in celebrating partnership

More than 70 cotton growers, VIP’s and invited guests have attended a special event at RB Sellars Flagship store in Toowoomba to celebrate a partnership recognising the quality of Australian Cotton Mark-certified fibre and its place in RB Sellars workwear.

The iconic Australian brand has embraced Australian cotton in its best-selling Burton and Sandy workshirts, crafted from light weight and durable 100% cotton twill, reinforcing their deep ties to rural Australia and their commitment to premium, traceable materials.

RB Sellars CEO Jim Gall and Cotton Australia CEO Adam Kay were among those who took the opportunity to thank local growers who are committed to best practice in their production of high quality, sustainable cotton.

Federal member for Groom, Garth Hamilton commended RB Sellars for its commitment to using 100% Australian cotton in its iconic workshirts. “We grow some of the best cotton in the world here on the Darling Downs and so the people who grow our cotton can wear the RB Sellars shirts with 100% Australian cotton, it’s a great partnership.”

Earlier in the day RB Sellars gained valuable feedback at a Future Farmers Network event where growers explained how agricultural practices are changing and how that may impact their future clothing needs. The feedback included UPF needs, three-point collars and fabrications to ensure breathability and easy wearing workwear. The cotton farmers also held an activity where they designed their own shirts, drawing praise from Mr Gall for their innovative ideas.

Mr Gall said RB Sellars is a prime example of how Australian brands can lead the way in ethical, local sourcing while maintaining superior product quality. “RB Sellars has always been about more than just clothing, it’s about creating garments that reflect the strength and resilience of the people who wear them,” Mr Gall said.

“Australian cotton is world-class in durability, breathability, and sustainability. For us, using homegrown fibre isn’t just a sourcing decision; it’s an investment in Australian agriculture and the future of responsible manufacturing.”

“Consumers are demanding more transparency about where their clothing comes from. When they choose RB Sellars, they’re choosing a product that directly supports Australian cotton farmers, strengthens regional economies, and upholds the highest sustainability standards.”
