2024-25 electricity price changes for regional Queensland
Each July, the Queensland Competition Authority (QCA) sets the electricity prices passed onto residents and businesses in regional Queensland. It is important for growers to be aware of their energy usage and tariffs as the correct electricity plan will save money by better suiting the demands of your operations.
Check the changes for your electricity at Energy Made Easy website by entering your postcode and National Metering Identifier (NMI).
Pricing changes for 2024-25
Regional small businesses will benefit from a decrease in energy prices while residential customer will experience and increase.
Changes in tariffs this year are driven by:
- A decrease in wholesale energy cost
- An increase in retail costs
- Higher network costs; and
- Decreases in other costs.
