Young grower using social media to showcase Ag Careers
A young Goondiwindi agronomist and cotton grower is using social media to highlight the many career opportunities available in agriculture.
Grace Griffiths, a Future Cotton Leaders alumnus, is the founder of 101 Ag Pathways — an online portal that has grown into a popular careers blog followed by thousands on Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn.
Grace created 101 Ag Pathways to showcase the wide range of roles available across agriculture, helping people discover careers they might not have considered. She shares real stories of people working in different parts of the industry, including many who found their way without following a traditional university pathway.
“I just really wanted to showcase the variety of ag careers,” Grace said. “Most people think that tertiary study is the only way to go, but there are many people who’ve worked their way through the ranks.”
With a strong network in cotton, many of the stories Grace shares focus on the cotton industry — but she’s keen to highlight the broader opportunities that exist across agriculture.
“Cotton or the ag industry has never just been growers in a paddock,” she said. “There are thousands of roles supporting our producers, and thousands of ways to get there.”
Grace said her own experience finishing university without a clear idea of what careers were available sparked her passion to start 101 Ag Pathways.
