Workshops for Growers at the Cotton Conference

Cotton Australia is hosting a number of workshops for growers during the Conference, focused on developing social media advocacy, workplace health and safety, and myBMP.  There’s also a growers-only, workshop about building confident leaders, capable teams and workplaces people want to stay in, hosted by the SHIFT team.

Bec Fing will host an interactive and practical workshop on WHS which continues to be an important topic for the industry. Having stepped onto more than 600 farms, Bec has seen firsthand what separates businesses that simply tick compliance boxes from those that genuinely build safer, stronger and more sustainable workplaces. In the workshop, Bec will use the myBMP WHS module to share 10 key lessons learned from years working directly with producers — highlighting what businesses consistently do well, the common mistakes that create unnecessary risk, and the simple, practical actions that improve both safety culture and compliance outcomes.

At the SHIFT workshop, the team and growers with hands-on experience will provide an update from 10 years of research, demystify the importance of psychological safety and offer tools to help team leaders communicate effectively, motivate teams, delegate, give effective feedback and top up leadership traits.  Please text your registration direct to Jo Eady on 0419 912 879.

Cotton Australia’s communication team is also running a social media workshop at the Australian Cotton Conference for growers and industry representatives help active social media advocates take their presence and influence to the next level – from reporting what’s happening, to real engagement that can help us move the needle on trust in Australian cotton.
