Upper Namoi Cotton Growers Celebrate Annual Awards

The Upper Namoi Cotton Growers held their Annual Awards dinner last week at the Gunnedah Jockey Club, recognising outstanding achievements in the industry. Cotton Australia CEO Adam Kay attended the event, providing an industry update and presenting an award.

2024/25 Season Crop Competition winners:

  • Grower of the Year: Merrilong Agricultural Company
  • Irrigated Cotton Crop: Richard and Tom Hudson, Tivoli Pastoral Company (‘Tivoli’)
  • Dryland Cotton Crop: Merrilong Agricultural Company (‘Noongah’)
  • Service to Industry: Andrew Watson
  • Young Achiever: Jacob Booby, Namoi Cotton

The event also recognised the highest ginned yields from the previous season:

  • Damien Haire Memorial Award (Highest Farm Yield): Tom Swain, Glencoe (14.27 b/ha)
  • Rob Eveleigh Highest Dryland Ginned Yield: Connamarra Partnership – Ian Carter, Connarmara, Sicot 714B3XF, C1 (7.5 b/ha)
