St George, Mungindi and Dirranbandi CGA Meetings

Cotton growers and industry representatives from across South-West Queensland and North-West New South Wales caught up last week for meetings of the Mungindi, Dirranbandi and St George Cotton Grower Associations.

For many growers, it was an opportunity to meet Angela Stewart, Cotton Australia’s Regional Manager, who commenced in the role in March this year. The meetings were also attended by Cotton Australia General Manager Michael Murray.

For the Dirranbandi CGA, it was also its AGM, with Tom Burrell taking on the role of Chair, succeeding Chris Hardie, and Todd Cooper taking over the role of Secretary from Edwina Graham, who held the position for 10 years.

Key discussion items across all the meetings included water policy, strengthening the roles of cotton grower associations, training needs and delivery, myBMP, electricity tariffs, and the Sunwater Irrigator Charge rebates.
