St George CGA visit
On Monday, Cotton Australia CEO Adam Kay attended the St George Cotton Growers Association AGM, where Lucas Wuersching was unanimously re-elected as President.
Around 20 growers took part in the meeting, which covered a range of local priorities. A key topic was the ongoing search for a Regional Manager, with members considering new approaches after two rounds of recruitment did not yield a suitable candidate.
Before the AGM, Adam joined CottonInfo’s Andrew McKay to visit several trial sites across the district. A visit to Scott Brimblecombe’s property, Ashwood, was a highlight. Scott continues his family’s long involvement in industry trials, including variety trials and work on nitrogen-use efficiency using enhanced efficiency products. Adam noted he had harvested variety trials on Ashwood three decades ago, reflecting the property’s long-standing support for the industry.
The CGA Executive welcomed the visit and the opportunity to hear an update on current Cotton Australia activities.
