NT Cotton the focus of Senators visit
Cotton Australia’s senior policy Manager for Northern Australia Simone Cameron has hosted a visit by Federal Senator’s Jacinta Nampijinpa Price and Susan McDonald to the Katherine Cotton Gin.
The NT Senator and Senator McDonald from Queensland were on a tour of the region to tour energy resources and a Katherine Community Centre before attending the Gin near the town.
Senator McDonald later highlighted the fact that 92% of NT Cotton is grown with rainfall only praising the ‘big vision and big projects’ like cotton that Northern Australia needs.
Simone said it was pleasing to hear both Senators voice their strong support for cotton in the NT, acknowledging it’s role in the NT economy.
