myBMP the focus of a dryland cotton field day near Moree
More than 80 growers turned up recently for the Dryland Cotton Research Association’s (DCRA) dryland field tour near Moree.
Ian Gourley a Narrabri cotton grower and President of the DCRA told the attendees about the importance and benefits of being myBMP accredited.
Ian, who recently gained his myBMP certification, is keen to see more dryland growers achieve the same and wants to help growers by demystifying the common misconceptions surrounding the process.
Ian said one of the best parts of the process was having his local CA Regional Manager Alec Macintosh there to help him along the way and give him solutions on things like paperwork, chem shed improvements and fuel tank bunding.
“The idea of myBMP certification seemed daunting initially, but the actual process turned out to be much more manageable than I expected. With Alec’s support I adapted my practices to meet myBMP requirements and the collaboration made the journey straightforward.”
