Hundreds attend Sydney Royal Easter Show's Primary Preview Day
Over 500 students have been introduced to cotton at the annual Primary Preview Day ahead of the Sydney Royal Easter Show, which starts today (Friday 22 March).
Cotton Australia’s Education Manager Jenny Hughes, Regional Manager for Northern NSW Alec Macintosh and Macquarie Valley grower Andrew Gill were on hand to educate school students about cotton growing and how important the industry is to Australia.
During the event Cotton Australia gave short 5-minute talks on cotton farming's importance in supplying food and fibre globally to students aged from kindergarten to year six. Talks were followed by interactive sessions which enabled students to get hands on with cotton.
Primary Preview Day gives school children the opportunity to interact with exhibitors before the official show begins. Cotton Australia will continue to educate the public with a stand throughout the entirety of the Sydney Royal Easter Show.
