Growers in Central Queensland First to Shape the Future of Australian Cotton
Cotton growers in Central Queensland will be the first to have their say on the future direction of the industry, with the Grower’s Voice and Carbon Chat Tour kicking off in Emerald and Banana on 28–29 July.
Led by Cotton Australia and the Cotton Research and Development Corporation (CRDC), the national roadshow visits are scheduled to seek feedback from growers and the wider industry on a number of topics that will shape our future – including carbon and cotton’s strategic roadmap.
Each event will include short updates from industry leaders followed by open discussions where growers can provide feedback and help guide future decisions.
Speakers include:
Adam Kay, Cotton Australia CEO – Why traceability matters, what the research is telling us, and what’s next
Allan Williams, CRDC Executive Director – an update on the current myBMP review and what it means for growers
Brooke Summers, Cotton Australia Cotton to Market – why human rights are important, and what we’re doing about social compliance
Dr Meredith Conaty, CRDC General Manager Innovation – critical updates on the cotton industry’s data platform and how you can become data platform ready
Jon Welsh, CottonInfo Carbon Technical Lead – a practical workshop on carbon strategies that matter to your bottom line.
Session details:
- Monday 28 July – Emerald Star Hotel, 2:30–6pm (followed by dinner and drinks)
- Tuesday 29 July – Banana Hall, 11:30am–3pm (includes lunch and post-event drinks)
