Golf day raises thousands for charity
The third annual Charity Golf Day for the Southern Valleys Cotton Growers Association has raised thousands of dollars for charity.
In total, 144 golfers, most of them growers attended the event at the Griffith Golf Club which featured nearest to the pin and longest drive among other features.
Sponsors came to the party offering $1000 per hole and along with the $18000 raised, the participants also put their hands in their pockets for an auction after play ended for the day. The money raised went to Can Assist which aims to ensure all NSW people have equitable access to cancer treatment and care, regardless of where they live.
The winning team for the day was Sam Ryan, Nick Ronfeldt, Luke Dawber and Guiseppe Napoli.
