George the Farmer: Educating kids about cotton

Cotton Australia have been working with ‘George the Farmer’ creator Simone Kain to film a new farming adventure about Australian cotton.

The episode, which was filmed in Wee Waa on Daniel Kahl’s property earlier this week, will be broadcast on George the Farmer’s YouTube channel and other social channels including Facebook.

For the shoot Daniel Kahl showed George the Farmer around his property, helping to record a song about cotton growing along the way.

To support teachers from Foundation to Year 2, there will be a downloadable guide which teachers can implement into the classroom along with the video to educate students about cotton production while also meeting learning outcomes of subjects such as Science, Technology, Maths and English.

The George the Farmer series is designed to be fun, educational, and inspiring for children, connecting them to where food and fibre come from, to not only ensure the future prosperity of Australia’s primary industries, but to raise the profile of Australia’s farmers.
