Cotton Industry levy preferences now on NGR payees

Cotton Australia has been collaborating with a diverse group of industry participants, including Ginners, Merchants, and Shippers and the National Grower Register (NGR) to streamline the processes and administration surrounding ginning, contracting, and payments.

The efforts are focussed on simplifying things for everyone involved, given that most growers already hold an NGR Card or are familiar with the system.

The latest development is that NGR has now incorporated the Cotton Australia Levy Preference, Cotton Agricultural Levy Preference (DAFF compulsory levy) and an Environmental Levy within the NGR Payee system. While some Ginners will be relying on this updated information for the upcoming season, others may continue with their existing processes.

With this in mind, it's crucial to ensure that users are aware of these levy preferences in NGR and can opt in accordingly. We strongly encourage growers to reach out to their Ginners to discuss whether any updates are needed to make sure your ginning contracts have the correct data for the season ahead.

Alternatively, you can log in to myNGR and update your levy preferences on the Payee connected to the NGR Card you use for cotton, and the Ginners who rely on it can collect it from there.

Should you not be able to log in to myNGR, or have any questions for NGR, they are available Monday to Friday from 8am to 5pm QLD time on 1800 556 630 and would be more than happy to assist you.
