Cotton Australia’s Simone Cameron Hosts NFF 2023 Diversity in Agriculture Leadership Program Graduation Breakfast
Cotton Australia's Simone Cameron, Senior Policy Manager for the Northern Australia, hosted the National Farmers Federation Diversity in Agriculture Leadership Program (DiALP) Graduation Breakfast at their conference in Canberra yesterday.
The event marked the completion of the 2023 DiALP program, which supports women in agriculture by providing valuable mentoring and networking opportunities. The program, now running for 6 years, has an alumni of over 60 graduates. DiALP aims to increase the number of women in leadership roles within the agricultural sector and make it more inclusive. It is a foundational component of the NFF’s 2030 Roadmap Policy. Participants are paired with industry mentors, attend a leadership retreat, and have regular leadership networking meetings as part of the 5-month program.
Simone, a 2022 graduate of the program, said, “I was honoured to be a part of this event and to welcome the next graduating cohort. I believe that all women in Australian agriculture industry have a bright future, and I am passionate about being a foundational part of the sector's growth.”
“Based in the Northern Territory, I see firsthand the opportunities for cotton and agriculture in northern Australia and the need for diversity in leadership to maximize and strengthen these exciting opportunities.”
Cotton Australia is proud to have partnered with the NFF to support this program since it was launched 6 years ago.
