Cotton Australia’s Merry Christmas to all

On behalf of the Board of Cotton Australia, the management team and all staff I want to wish growers and their families all the best for the festive season.

It’s been another very busy year and when you work as hard as we all do in agriculture, it’s important to take some time to reflect on the year that was in 2024, the lessons learned and the causes for celebration.

We face many challenges in growing cotton, and I am reminded about the hard work our Cotton Australia team does to fight for us in policy and in all areas important to our success and ongoing viability. Their efforts were captured in the Members Memo and Current and Future activities documents, released immediately after our November General Meeting and I encourage you to take a look over the Christmas break if you haven’t already.

Of course, the festive season is a special time, and top of mind or me are the most important people in our corner, our families. Without them and their loving support we wouldn’t be able to do what we do.

For me, the best Christmas present I can possibly receive is time – time to just relax and appreciate my family and acknowledge what makes our lives special. The reality is we will all have farm tasks to attend to over this period, but I encourage you all to pause, relax and find the joy that this season is all about.

I want to thank you all for your interactions this year – at The Cotton Conference and at every opportunity I have been impressed by the friendliness the collaboration and the sharing that make cotton growers unique.

I also want to acknowledge the team at Cotton Australia. Most will be taking a well-earned break with the office closed from COB Tuesday the 24th of December till Thursday the 2nd of January 2025 – however as in previous years help will be just a phone-call away. Senior staff will be on call and ready to speak with you for any urgent issues during this time.

On behalf of the entire team at Cotton Australia, I wish you a wonderful and safe holiday period and a great year ahead in 2025.
