Cotton Australia wraps up a successful Sydney Royal Easter Show

Cotton Australia has wrapped up another strong showing at the 2025 Sydney Royal Easter Show, engaging thousands of visitors over 12 days and helping more Australians learn about where their cotton comes from.

More than 850,000 people attended the Show – the biggest ever for Ticketmaster and the largest Day 1 crowd in 20 years – with Cotton Australia's stand once again a popular destination. From cotton plants and product displays to a hands-on virtual reality experience, the stand gave families, students and city-goers a closer look at Australian cotton farming.

This year saw a noticeable increase in engagement from adults and parents, many curious to know more about how cotton is grown, what products are made from Australian cotton and where they can find them. The washing line display of cotton products and the chance to touch raw cotton for the first time proved to be real drawcards.

Cotton Australia's presence was managed by Education Manager Jenny Hughes and supported by wonderful volunteers from University of Sydney, ADM (Arthur Spellson), Growers (Jenny Cleton & Joe Briggs), CottonInfo (Bob Ford & Greg Bramley), CRDC (Nicola Cottee) and PIEFA (Luciano Mesiti & Sarah Barton).

The stand also drew national media interest, with CEO Adam Kay and Jenny Hughes interviewed by Macca from ABC’s Australia All Over to talk about the strength of the industry. Listen now.

Jenny Hughes and Communications Manager- Digital, Desley Sheedy also spoke with ABC Rural to bust common myths about cotton. Listen now.
