Cotton Australia stands out at the RAS NSW Farm Days

Cotton Australia stood out at the Royal Agricultural Society of NSW (RAS) Farm Days, with Education Manager Jenny Hughes leading hands-on, interactive sessions. Held over two weeks at Sydney Showground, the event hosted over 1,600 students from Year 1 to Year 12, giving them the opportunity to learn about agriculture.

Jenny’s sessions covered topics like water sharing and integrated pest management, offering practical activities that engaged students and captured the interest of teachers and RAS representatives alike. The interactive session highlighted the sustainability, innovation, and technology of the Australian cotton industry while also showcasing the diverse career opportunities in agriculture.

“Farm Days is all about giving students a memorable experience that helps them understand where their food and fibre come from,” Jenny said. “It’s great to see them so engaged and curious.”

Cotton Australia attended the event alongside other agricultural bodies like Meat & Livestock Australia and Australian Wool Innovation, as well as demonstrations like the smart farmer milking demonstration, giving attendees an insight into the different aspects of the agricultural sector.
