Cotton Australia rolls out more 'Teach the Teacher' events

Earlier this week, Cotton Australia hosted a 'Teach the Teacher' event in Mungindi with 24 teachers and 20 growers in attendance.

Teach the Teacher events offer teachers a hands-on experience, enabling them to leave the confines of the classroom and explore cotton farms and gins firsthand through guided tours.

This year the program is extending its reach to the Northern Territory for the first time, giving educators in Katherine an opportunity to learn about the region's burgeoning cotton industry.

Another seven events are scheduled across various cotton-growing regions, coordinated by Cotton Australia's regional managers, along with Education Manager Jenny Hughes.

The upcoming event in Goondiwindi has already attracted interest from educators from Brisbane Tafe, highlighting the growing enthusiasm among teachers to deepen their understanding of the cotton sector.

'Teach the Teacher' events play a crucial role in providing educators with valuable insights that they can then share with their students, thereby enhancing understanding of Australia's cotton farming practices.

Upcoming dates:

  • Katherine NT - 4 April
  • Goondiwindi QLD - 22 April
  • Narrabri NSW - 14 May
  • Gunnedah NSW - 16 May
  • Moree NSW - 21 May
