Cotton Australia returns Pick N Match in response to picker shortage
Cotton Australia is calling on cotton picker owners, whether they be growers or contractors, and growers seeking contractors to add their details to the CA Website’s Pick N Match page amid concerns about the shortage of pickers in some valleys.
With a large crop, weather delays in some regions, and an early start to picking in other areas, the season has been compressed, and pickers can be hard to find.
CA General Manager Michael Murray said it is hoped that Pick N Match will help connect growers and contractors.
“It can easily be the case that a contractor is just finishing a job up-the-road, but is unaware that there are hectares just waiting to be picked nearby, and similarly, the grower may not be aware that the contractor is nearby and looking for work,” Mr Murray said.
“We hope this simple service can connect people, and help get the cotton harvest done.”
The service, at no cost to contractors or farmers. Visit the Pick N Match page
