Cotton Australia represented at Chinese Premier event in Parliament House

Cotton Australia’s CEO Adam Kay has attended a special luncheon event in the Great Hall at Parliament House in Canberra for Chinese Premier Mr Li Qiang, focussed on the improving relationship and boosting trade relations between the two countries.

My Kay said the high-level diplomatic event was a good opportunity to hear from the senior Chinese leadership about the future of the relationship with China especially given the easing of trade suspensions on wine, beef, cotton and barley, to name a few.

“Prior to the soft bans imposed on Australian cottons, China was our main trade partner however it is a testament to the efforts of our industry that willing customers were found in other countries resulting in all our crop being sold.

“We welcome that fact that China is once again sourcing our high quality cotton and we look forward to that demand increasing over time as we look to satisfy demand from all countries seeking our sustainable cotton.”
