Camp Cotton heads to Narrabri in May

Fashion industry leaders, retailers, and NGOs are embarking on a unique journey to Australian cotton farms, leaving behind their urban offices to gain first-hand insights into sustainable cotton production.

The Camp Cotton event, which is organized by Cotton Australia, will bring approximately 60 delegates from major fashion hubs like New York, London, Milan, and Hong Kong, as well as representatives from local brands, to learn about Australia's sustainable cotton practices.

Participants will visit Daniel Kahl’s farm in Wee Waa property and Andrew Watson’s Boggabri property, where they will be able to ask questions of the growers and industry representatives and see Australian cotton being grown on farm.

The event also includes visits to the AFF Narrabri cotton gin and the Australian Cotton Research Institute, providing delegates with a comprehensive overview of innovation in the Australian cotton supply chain.

Camp Cotton aims to showcase the Australia’s leadership in sustainable agriculture and serves to strengthen relationships between existing and new brand partners and the cotton industry.

The initiative is funded by the federal government's ATMAC program, which aims to enhance trade diversification for Australia's agricultural commodities.
