2024 Australian Cotton Conference a success
The most well-attended Cotton Conference ever held in the southern hemisphere is being remembered for its collaboration, ground-breaking presentations and forums, social networking, and incredible displays of innovation and technology.
More than 2,900 people attended the Australian Cotton Conference on the Gold Coast from August 6 to 8, culminating in the gala dinner and awards night where the winners of the 2024 Cotton Industry Awards were announced.
The knowledge sharing was a key highlight for many at the conference, with 160 speakers and panellists on hand, and 26 Chairs guiding 29 individual sessions. The diverse range of delegates covered topics as varied as soil health, cover cropping, renewables, carbon farming, climate forecasting, water surveillance, the performance of new cotton varieties, mental health, and artificial intelligence applications for cotton.
Another impressive aspect of the 2024 Cotton Conference was the largest ever trade display, featuring more than 120 exhibitors and prompting conference organisers to arrange additional space.
Conference Committee Chair and Cotton Australia Board Deputy Chair Liz Stott thanked all the sponsors, everyone who worked hard behind the scenes, all volunteers, and every one of the delegates for giving up their time to attend.
