Updated load restraint reports

Cotton Australia has recently updated several of its Load Restraint Engineering Reports for un-ginned cotton, providing growers and transport operators with current guidance aligned with the latest national standards.

All transport operators are legally required to restrain their loads in accordance with the Load Restraint Guide 2025, prepared by the National Transport Commission.

The changes to the two Single Strap Reports (Six Modules) are administrative, including updating dates from the 2018 National Guide to the 2025 Guide and removing reference to a specific brand of winch.

Cotton Australia has also updated and republished two engineering reports for systems that allow the transport of seven modules per flat deck, by using a stand system. This system, while initially used over a decade ago, gained greater popularity this year, prompting Cotton Australia to have the original report reviewed and updated.

Transport operators who wish to rely on these reports as evidence of compliance with the National Guide must strictly follow them. An Engineering Report is not required to prove consistency with the National Guide, but if the report is not followed precisely, operators should not reference it as supporting evidence.

In summary, loads restrained strictly in accordance with these reports would meet the requirements of the 2025 National Load Restraint Guide, which sets the national standard for restraining loads.
