'Teach the Teacher' heads to the Macintyre Valley

The recent Macintyre Valley 'Teach the Teacher' event drew 23 educators keen to learn about cotton farming firsthand. Coordinated by Cotton Australia's Regional Manager, Cate Wild, the event brought together teachers primarily from Goondiwindi State High and Primary School, with one participant making the journey from Warwick, a two-hour drive away.

The day began with a tour of the Namoi Cotton Gin, followed by a visit to "Mundine," the Corish Family’s Farm. Due to a 15mm rainfall the day prior, picking was postponed. However, Simon and Chantal, Brett and Anna, and Jeremy the farm manager showed the attendees the picker. Later, attendees explored a dried paddock where Agronomist from MCA, Tim Richards, discussed production methods and answered questions. To wrap up, refreshments sponsored by LDC and Bayer at Simon and Chantal’s where attendees were able to catch-up and network before their journey back to town.
