Cotton grower backs Peter Cullen Trust with applications now open

Applications are now open for a program designed to foster courageous leaders who will drive the sustainable and equitable management of Australia’s waterways and natural environments.

The Peter Cullen Water & Environment Trust invites applications from people who are actively involved in water and environmental science, systems, advocacy, policy or management, to participate in our unique Leadership Program.

Cotton Australia CEO Adam Kay encouraged cotton growers and other industry representatives to apply if they are interested in water. “It is important not only for the applicant’s own professional development, but it is also equally important to have actual irrigators participating in the cohort, so participants genuinely receive a diversity of views.”

Goondiwindi cotton farmer Glen Smith was a Peter Cullen Trust participant in 2018. “I found it valuable, and I think anyone with a strong interest in water advocacy, policy and the work of water industry bodies would find this course very useful. As chair of the Border Rivers Food and Fibre the learnings were of particular interest to me.”

The PCT Leadership Program enables Australia’s future water and environment leaders to develop their leadership capabilities, communication skills and ability to drive change.
