Cotton Australia strengthens ties with leading brands in Melbourne
Cotton Australia CEO Adam Kay recently joined the Cotton to Market team on a trip to meet with key brands and retailers in Melbourne.
Meeting with key brands including Cotton On Group, RB Sellars, Hanes, and Kmart Adam gave stakeholders an update on the 2025 season and shared some of the positive achievements of the industry outlined in the recently released 2023 Sustainability Update.
A visit to Loomtex, a small weaving and dyeing mill near Geelong, offered further insights into local textile production. Adam toured the facility, learning about the operation and how fibres are processed and marketed locally. While there, he gave a presentation on the Australian cotton industry and shared positive stories from cotton growers with the mill's employees.
This year, over 22 million products from 49 licensed brand partners have been certified as Australian Cotton, including everything from clothing to homewares. With applications still pouring in, the number is set to surpass 25 million by the end of the year, a testament to the growing demand for Australian cotton.
