Cotton Australia meets with Central Highlands growers

Cotton Australia Chair Nigel Burnett and General Manager Michael Murray joined growers and Regional Manager Robyn Lehman at the Central Highlands Cotton Growers and Irrigators Association meeting in Emerald this week.

The meeting offered a comprehensive opportunity to brief growers on Cotton Australia’s work and to receive valuable feedback from them.

Key topics of discussion included Cotton Australia’s advocacy on issues such as water, SunWater pricing, energy, and tariff reform, as well as the opportunities arising from the delivery of SmartAg Queensland.

Chair Nigel Burnett provided an update on the progress of the Cotton Industry Roadmap project.

While in Emerald, Michael and Robyn also took the opportunity to sit down with several individual growers, who were more than willing to share their insights and concerns.

“The meeting was very positive and well received by the growers and industry supporters in attendance, and was a credit to the CGA executive,” Mr Murray said.
