Cotton Australia joins Corinda State High School Farm Day
The recent Corinda State High School's Farm Day offered a variety of stands, hands-on activities, and Q&A sessions with experts, including Paul Sloman from Cotton Australia, sharing their insights into agriculture and farming.
During his Q&A session, Paul spoke about career opportunities in the cotton industry while addressing common misconceptions about cotton and water use. He also spoke about the opportunities in STEM, and agtech.
The Farm Day attracted hundreds of students and community members eager to learn more about where food and fibre come from, and the range of careers available in the agriculture sector.
The Corinda State High School's 'Smart Farm,' located just 12km from Brisbane’s CBD, serves as a hub for students to develop practical skills and explore their passion for agriculture. The farm allows Agricultural Science students to engage in activities like animal husbandry, beekeeping, and horticulture, with students maintaining and harvesting a market garden.
