Cotton Australia at RAS Farm Days: Showcasing Agricultural Career Pathways
Cotton Australia recently led a hands-on, interactive experience at The Royal Agricultural Society of NSW (RAS) Farm Days, specifically designed for primary and secondary students following the STEM curriculum. Hosted at Sydney Showground, Sydney Olympic Park, this initiative welcomed thousands of students, providing firsthand insights into agriculture.
CA's Education Manager, Jenny Hughes, highlighted the event's crucial role in bridging the gap between youth and agriculture. She provided insights into the Australian Cotton Industry and diverse career pathways in agriculture.
"The multi-day event is a unique opportunity for students from Year 1 to Year 12 to learn about agriculture and appreciate where their food and fiber come from," she said.
Supported by joint funding from the Royal Agricultural Society of NSW and the Australian Government's National Landcare Program, this quarterly event aims to deepen students' understanding of the agricultural sector.
