Cotton Tour Showcases Innovations for Laundry Conference

Owners and staff from H Polesy & Son, an established Australian textile company, embarked on a tour organized by the Darling Downs Cotton Growers' Association (DDCGA) to explore cotton farming and ginning at Dalby prior to the Laundry Association Australia 2024 Conference. The tour aimed to showcase sustainable cotton practices and innovations in the industry.

H Polesy & Son is leading the charge by using only local cotton for its products and introducing a new yarn-making method (vortex spun) that extends the lifespan of their bed linen.

During the tour, delegates visited key cotton processing facilities like Dalby's Olam Gin and CSD Dalby, gaining firsthand insights into the cotton production process. The timing of the tour aligns with the government's recent push for a circular economy.

Visits to the Ronnfeldt and Armitage family farms demonstrated practical examples of sustainable farming methods, reinforcing the importance of initiatives like myBMP.

Overall, these visits serve as invaluable opportunities for knowledge exchange and industry advancement, with innovative efforts like those by H Polesy & Son leading the way.
