Required Skills:

• Strong mechanical knowledge and ability (John Deere)
• Experience in cotton irrigation and dryland cropping
• Strong communication skills
• Heavy machinery experience, including precision farming tech
• Willingness to follow WHS policy and procedure
• Ability to undertake and communicate machinery and motor vehicle maintenance requirements

About the role:

• Progressive family farming organisation
• Operating a broad range of modern John Deere machinery to carry out the production of dryland cereals and irrigated cotton.
• General property maintenance.
• Operating siphon, bankless and pipe through the bank irrigation systems
• Working with, and alongside a specialised farm mechanic

To be successful in this role you will:

• Have experience with agricultural software including Goanna Ag, AgWorld, Trimble and John Deere systems would be beneficial
• Have experience working in a multifaceted operation, including management of water supply & drainage
• Have strong communication skills
• Ambition to work on improving all aspects of the business to be a leader
• Be well-organised with excellent time management skills
• Have a passion for new technologies
• Have the ability to work in a team environment and independently
• Hold a current Drivers license
• Be able to operate and undertake daily maintenance of a wide range of late model GPS controlled agricultural equipment related to the production of crops, including ground preparation, fertilizing, planting, cultivating, chemical application, harvesting & picking
• Tertiary qualifications/trade qualifications are welcomed but not necessary
