On behalf of our growers, Cotton Australia has taken part in the Toowoomba Surat Basin Enterprise Group Agrifood Innovation Forum 2023.

The cotton industry was acknowledged by Dr Chris Sarra, Director General of the Qld Dept of Agriculture, for its commitment to sustainability through the development of the People, Paddock, Planet Framework and ongoing delivery of the myBMP program.

The theme of the Forum, of which Cotton Australia was lanyard sponsor, was ESG&S, environment, social, governance and sustainability and explored how these themes play a role in agricultural production currently and into the future.

Michael Murray was on an expert panel discussing governance which was introduced by CA Board Member April Cavanagh.

Michael gave an overview of how the cotton industry communicates its social and environmental achievements and challenges in a transparent manner – with a commitment to continually doing better.
