  • ABARE’S COTTON FORECAST

    ABARES December Crop Report estimates the area planted to cotton to have fallen by 26 per cent in 2012–13 to 442 000 hectares. Irrigated cotton estimates suggest a fall of 7 per cent to 419 000 hectares and the area planted to dryland cotton has fallen by 85 per cent to 23 000 hectares. Read more »

    USDA’s Canberra Bureau has forecast a 6 percent lower Australia’s 2012-13 cotton crop of 4 million bales, with the total area planted down by as much as 25-30% compared to last year. Read more »
