Australian growers now have access to premium markets for cotton grown on myBMP (Best Management Practices) certified farms by opting in to BCI. Growers aiming to sell Better Cotton in the 2017/18 season are invited to opt in to the Better Cotton Initiative (BCI) now.

Australian cotton growers must do three things to qualify as a BCI grower:

  1. Achieve myBMP certification by February 26, 2018
  2. Pay your full Cotton Australia levy
  3. Opt in for BCI by contacting the myBMP team

Not myBMP certified yet?

You can still opt in for BCI now. You have until 26 February 2018 to become myBMP certified.

Why should growers opt in to BCI?

Over the past few seasons many BCI growers have negotiated an additional $3 - $8 for bale for their BCI credits.

The value of BCI credits varies each season, and the price depends on the supply and demand for sustainable cotton on international markets.
